Since the covid-19 outbreak, there has been a huge negative toll on the South African economy. One of the aspects that places our economy at risk is unemployment. According to Stats SA, the unemployment rate currently is at 33,9%. In that 33,9% it is said that 66,5% is the youth. We cannot expect any growth or stable economy when more than half of the youth is denied employment. The government has made endless promises to tackle this issue and provide employment but it has been since no difference nor change. Fighting Together is a non-governmental organization that was established to help citizens with social issues they encountering. It focuses more on unemployment. Since the Covid-19 outbreak there has been alot of changes all around the world. The first covid 19 case in South Africa was during February last year. Since then, the virus has been the worst virus to ever exist. It has claimed so many lives, created many issues, and unemployment is the biggest one of all. It has also changed the economy as well. Fighting Together not only assists the unemployed but it is there to also help people fight the virus by educating those who lack information and correcting the conspiracy theories flying around.
